The Ocean City Nor’easters scored three unanswered goals and held on in the game’s final minutes to beat West Chester United 3-1 in the opening game of the 2023 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Tuesday night at YSC Sports in Wayne, Pa.

Three lower division sides’ hopes are still alive as Major League Soccer entered the fray in the Fourth Round of the 2017 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The United Soccer League’s FC Cincinnati and Sacramento Republic, as well as the North American Soccer League’s Miami FC, disposed of their MLS opponents. This marks the first time since 2014 that at least three lower division teams will be represented in the Round of 16.
