The conference will be the second to kick off qualifying play across the PDL with Orange County Blue Star taking on the Los Angeles Misioneros Sunday, May 1, the day after the league’s opening match in Florida.

USASA Region III field set for 2011 US Open Cup qualifying

The draw for the competition will take place, as it is annually, on the eve of the tournament, May 26. The tournament will be held on Memorial Day weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the University of Alabama Recreational Center.

NPSL US Open Cup qualifying slate set for Northeast Division

The qualification process has been set for the second of the four National Premier Soccer League’s automatic berths into the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Northeast Division’s spot will feature a three-team tournament May 7 and 27.

For the second year in a row, Detroit United has captured the Michigan Open Cup title and has punched their ticket to the USASA Region II tournament. They defeated a Michigan Bucks “reserve” squad registered under the name “MBSC Rush,” 2-1, in extra time with Tommy Eller scoring both goals for United, overcoming a goal by Soony Saad early in the second half.
