Host possibilities for the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Semifinals announced

U.S. Soccer has announced the home teams for the semifinal possible pairings in the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Results from the quarterfinals of play on July 6, 7, and 21 will determine the potential matchups and venues for the semifinals to take place on Tuesday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 1.

U.S. Soccer has announced the home teams for the quarterfinal possible pairings in the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Results from the third round of play on June 29 and June 30 will determine the potential matchups and venues for the quarterfinals to take place one week later on Tuesday, July 6 and Wednesday, July 7.

U.S. Soccer has announced the home teams for the third round possible pairings in the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the inclusion of Major League Soccer teams. Results from the second round of play on June 22 will determine the potential matchups and venues for the third round to take place one week later on Tuesday, June 29.

2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup results

The first two rounds of the 2010 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup are complete and now the big boys join the party. The eight teams that have emerged from rounds one and two will each face a club from Major League Soccer on June 29 or June 30.

2010 Meet the USASA: Legends FC of North Texas

Legends FC are back in the US Open Cup for their third trip in the Professional Era. The club from North Texas, founded in 1992, have seen three recent players sign with Major League Soccer and they will take on FC Tampa Bay of the USSF 2nd Division in the first round.

USSF unveils 2010 US Open Cup format

The US Soccer Federation announced the dates and format for the 97th Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, with the tournament following the same setup as recent years – with one interesting exception. Once again, 40 teams will take aim at being the team to lift the Dewar Challenge Trophy and claim the $100,000 winner’s prize in the final Oct. 5.

US Open Cup qualifying: DC United eliminates FC Dallas for second straight year, 4-2 (Video)

For the second year in a row, DC United eliminated FC Dallas from Lamar Hunt US Open Cup qualifying at RFK Stadium. In this year’s edition, United got a pair of goals from Adam Cristman to lead the way to a 4-2 victory. With the win, DC will host Real Salt Lake in a “Win & You’re In” match at a date to be determined.

US Open Cup qualifying: Real Salt Lake advance with a PK thriller at San Jose

In an exciting back-and-forth night at Buck Shaw Stadium, Real Salt Lake advanced to the next round of US Open Cup qualifying, winning a penalty kick shootout with the San Jose Earthquakes. The defending MLS Cup champions blew a two-goal lead, fell behind 3-2 in overtime, but managed to equalize in the 117th minute and survive the shootout, 5-3.
