2010 First Round: Miami FC’s Paulo Araujo Jr. scores four in overtime to win Player of the Round

After a record-setting first round performance against the Central Florida Kraze, Miami FC’s Paulo Araujo Jr. has been voted as TheCup.us Player of the Round. Araujo Jr. came off the bench in the second half and scored four goals in under 10 minutes in overtime to lead the Blues to a 5-1 win over the Kraze.

2010 US Open Cup First Round: City Islanders need OT to knock off Brooklyn Italians

The Brooklyn Italians lead twice, but J.T Noone’s goal in the 89th minute propeled the match into extra time, where the Harrisburg City Islanders would score two goals and notch a 4-2 victory in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

2010 US Open Cup First Round: Deja Vu? Timbers eliminate Sonoma County 3-0 for second year in a row

The Portland Timbers and the Sonoma County Sol would meet for the second year in a row in Lamar Hunt US Open Cup action, this time in Portland instead of in California, but the result was the same as the Timbers won 3-0 for the second year in a row and advance to face the Kitsap Pumas.

2010 US Open Cup First Round: AC St. Louis wins Open Cup debut, 1-0 at Des Moines Menace

AC St. Louis defeated the Des Moines Menace 1-0 in the opening round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tonight at Valley Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. The match was the first ever in this competition for the expansion AC St. Louis franchise.

2010 US Open Cup First Round: Minnesota hold off surge from KC Athletics, win 4-2

Warren Ukah’s first two goals of the season helped carry the NSC Minnesota Stars to a 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Athletics in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. Simone Bracalello and Neil Hlavaty also scored as the Stars moved on at the expense of a shorthanded amateur side.
