After the semifinals of the Maryland Open Cup tournament wrapped up, two teams emerged to advance to the championship game. Jilly’s Bar & Grill dethroned the defending state champions, beating Christos 3-0. Charm City booked their spot in the final with a 1-0 win over FC Allyance.
Charm City edges Baltimore Bays Chelsea in PKs to join Maryland final four
It only took four tries to get this match in, but it was worth the wait. Charm City FC moved closer to a Maryland Open Cup title, and a spot in the USASA Region I Finals, by defeating Baltimore Bays Chelsea in Quarterfinal action 6-5 on penalties after a scoreless draw. This game was plentiful not in scoring, but in physicality.
