With rich histories, Pancyprian Freedoms & Brooklyn Italians, qualify for USOC

The New York Pancyprian Freedoms and the Brooklyn Italians are back in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup after victories in the USASA Region I semifinals. The Freedoms will make their fourth Open Cup appearance in the Professional Era (1995-present), while the Italians, a two-time Open Cup champion, are making their first appearance since they won it all in 1991.

2010 US Open Cup qualifying: NY Pancyprian Freedoms avenge the Greeks, beat Fenerbahce to win Eastern NY

Freedoms general manager George Halkidis made good on that promise as the Freedoms dispatched Fenerbahce 4-1 to continue their dominance over Eastern NY. For New York, it was their third straight Open Cup title and their fourth in the last five years.

Fenerbahce USA in Eastern NY Final after Greek American Atlas forfeit

Following their 4-1 win over Fenerbahce USA in the Semifinals of the Eastern New York Open Cup tournament, New York Greek American Atlas has been disqualified. Fenerbahce USA will now replace the Greek Americans in the title game and will face the New York Pancyprian Freedoms on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30 at Central Island Beach Field in Bayville, NY.

2010 Qualifying: Greek American Atlas top Fenerbahce, reach Eastern NY Final

It was a situation of in with the old and out with the new in the Eastern New York Semifinals as the New York Greek American Atlas defeated Fenerbahce USA 4-1 For the fourth time in the last five years, the New York Greek American Atlas will face the New York Pancyprian Freedoms in the state’s Open Cup championship.
