The Dulles Sportsplex Aegean Hawks are once again Open Cup champions of the Metropolitan DC-VA Soccer Association, taking another step to returning to the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup for the first time since 2009.

2011 US Open Cup qualifying: Home clubs sweep quarterfinals of USASA Region I tournament (Video)

New York Pancyprian Freedoms vs. Danbury United

Home field proved to be a deciding factor on the day as each of the four hosts were victorious in the Quarterfinals of USASA Region I qualifying for the 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Sunday afternoon. Moving onto the Semifinals were Go Soccer FC (NJ), Mass Premier Soccer (MA), NY Pancyprian Freedoms (East NY) and Phoenix SC (East PA).

2010 US Open Cup qualifying: Region I down to 14 teams as tournament begins this weekend

Atletico Virginia denies Aegean Hawks a 5th straight DC/VA Open Cup title

For the first time in nine tries, Club Atletico Virginia (CAV) finally broke through against their Washington Premier League (WPL) rivals, the Dulles Sportsplex Aegean Hawks. And they couldn’t have picked a better time to do it. CAV defeated the Aegean Hawks 2-0 in a rain-soaked DC/Virginia Open Cup Final to punch their ticket to the USASA Region I tournament.
