FC Dallas (MLS) scored twice in each half and got big performances from both a club veteran and teenager making his debut to help the Hoops advance past OKC Energy (USL Championship).

The fans that remained for the 10 p.m. kickoff from John Crain Field on the campus of the University of Oklahoma were treated to an explosion of goals as Oklahoma City Energy FC dropped the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 4-3, in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup on Tuesday night.

Dallas-based amateur club NTX Rayados scored three times in extra-time and took down visiting OKC Energy 5-2 in a wild Round 2 affair on Wednesday night at Richland College.

2014 US Open Cup Round 2: Oklahoma City Energy beat Tulsa Athletics as tournament returns to Oklahoma (video)

It was the first Open Cup game held in Oklahoma since 1997 when Los Lobos (USASA) welcomed the Central Jersey Riptide to Tulsa for a first round game (Riptide won 1-0). 17 years later, the tournament has returned to the Sooner State.
