It was a monumental game for Lansing Ignite as they won their first US Open Cup match in their young team history, holding off instate rival AFC Ann Arbor 2-1 behind a brace from Njeta Elma N’for to advance to the next round of the tournament.

Detroit City FC battled valiantly against the United Soccer League side FC Cincinnati for 90 minutes to a 1-1 draw in the US Open Cup. Unfortunately for the underdogs from the Motor City, the cup match went an additional 30 minutes, and FC Cincinnati rallied to score three in extra time to defeat the NPSL club 4-1.
