While Lilley’s Hounds struggled to create many scoring opportunities for much of its Third Round Open Cup match against USL Championship foe Indy Eleven, all they needed was one opportunistic moment to pull out a 1-0 win at Highmark Stadium on Wednesday night.

2019 US Open Cup Round 2: Neco Brett’s brace help Pittsburgh Riverhounds blank Dayton Dutch Lions

Neco Brett scored twice in a 12-minute span in the second half and Anthony Velarde added an assist and a late goal to spoil the USL League Two club’s upset bid, as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC turned things up a notch to defeat Dayton, 3-0, in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match.

FC Cincinnati will have a chance at big game hunting once again, as their 3-1 victory against fellow USL side Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC saw them advance in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.
