2022 US Open Cup Semifinals: Sacramento Republic defense carries underdog story to Final with PK shootout win

After a scoreless draw, the match would be ultimately decided by penalty kicks, with Republic FC winning 5-4 over Sporting KC to advance to the 107th US Open Cup Final against Orlando City SC.

The Houston Dynamo knocked off defending Lamar Hunt US Open Cup champions Sporting Kansas City in the Quarterfinals with two goals each from Romell Quioto and Mauro Manotas in a 4-2 win before 6,431 fans at BBVA Compass Stadium.

2018 US Open Cup Round 5: Croizet’s “best goal”, Salloi’s brace keep Sporting KC perfect vs. FC Dallas

For the fourth time in their respective club histories, Sporting Kansas City hosted FC Dallas in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. On Saturday night, Sporting KC defeated FC Dallas for the fourth time in the Open Cup, winning 3-2 in front of 15,238 fans at Children’s Mercy Park.

2018 US Open Cup Round 4: Sporting KC begins defense of USOC title with 2-0 win at Real Salt Lake

Sporting Kansas City last eliminated Real Salt Lake in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in the semifinals in 2015. Sporting Kansas City again eliminated Real Salt Lake in 2018 with a 2-0 victory, with goals coming from Johnny Russell in the 48th minute, and Kharlton Belmar in the 74th minute. Belmar assisted Russell for the first goal, and Russell assisted Belmar for the second goal.

2017 US Open Cup Final: Sporting KC holds off Red Bulls to win fourth Open Cup title (video)

For the third time in six years, and the fourth time in club history, Sporting Kansas City won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup by defeating the New York Red Bulls 2-1 in front of a crowd of 21,523 at Children’s Mercy Park.
