A long awaited match, the Kitsap Pumas have been on the path to meet the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer the past two years only to be knocked out of the potential Puget Sound derby by a professional club, the Portland Timbers. By downing the visiting Real Colorado Foxes 3-1 Tuesday night in the US Open Cup Second Round a second consecutive win over rival PDL competition, the finally got to turn in that ticket.

Zach Lubin of Kitsap Pumas - 2011 Player of the Round

Lubin kept a shutout through 120 minutes against Chivas El Paso Patriots and helped the club win the penalty kick shootout, 6-5. The award is voted on by the staff of TheCup.us and a selected panel of members of the North American Soccer Reporters.

2010 US Open Cup: Nate Jaqua of Seattle Sounders named TheCup.us Player of the Tournament

Nate Jaqua tied for the tournament lead in goals (5), and carried the Sounders to the US Open Cup final. Despite only playing a couple of minutes in the championship game, Jaqua was voted the Player of the Tournament by the staff at TheCup.us and a select panel of the North American Soccer Reporters.

2010 US Open Cup Final: Record crowd sees Seattle Sounders become first repeat champion since 1983

Sanna Nyassi became the first player in the Modern Era (1995-present) to score twice in the US Open Cup Final as the Seattle Sounders FC retained the US Open Cup as the first back-to-back champions from Major League Soccer.
