While the official format for the 2015 US Open Cup is not expected to be announced until next year, USASA officials are expecting to retain their two Region III spots, so the champion and the runner-up of the tournament will qualify. The North American Soccer League’s (NASL) San Antonio Scorpions managed to defeat the upset-minded North Texas Rayados of the United States Amateur Soccer Association (USASA) by a final score of 4-2 in a third round US Open Cup match.

In rematch of last year’s tournament, we had a sequel that, unlike most Hollywood films, was far better than the original by a wide margin as the Rayados fell behind three times, and equalized each time, including the third time in second half stoppage time.
The 100th edition of the US Open Cup had its first round on Tuesday and Austin Aztex won their first US Open Cup game since the squad’s rebirth thanks to a 3-0 win against amateurs NTX Rayados despite playing with 10 men for a majority of the contest.
