I completely agree with "Radar Love" on this issue.

Can I also point out that Fenerbache and Greek Americans were matched up in the US Amateur Cup but Fenerbache had lost. Michael Todd played in that game but nothing was filed since they won. However, since they lost 4-1, AND IRONICALLY Gus Xikis son, EJ Xikis was in goal for Fenerbache, the club filed after the game in protest.

Oh how politics and power can out-weigh ones admission to losing straight up.

Poor form Fenerbache (and Gus Xikis)...what comes around goes around

Also, listing of an ineligible player is not an infraction unless the player actually plays in the match. Often in Regional and National Cups rounds, USSF roster checks come back and specify that certain players are not eligible to play, but the team is not disqualified simply on the basis they were listed.

According to USASA National Cup rules, any protest regarding use of ineligible players must be submitted by the protestor PRIOR to kickoff. A copy of the protest should be supplied to the opponent, the referees, and a $100 protest fee submitted. States generally have some discretion on implementation of these rules, but I am not aware of any that disregard the national policy. This is set up by design to prevent protest occurring after a match has been played. 22 person roster pools are required for submission to Cups commissioners (officialy 15 days prior to Cup match, but often this is relaxed at State level qualification). Game day rosters, only 18 can suit up out of the 22 pool, and for Open Cup only 14 total can play.

If Fenerbache USA's protest was indeed filed AFTER the match was played, per National Cup policy rules, their protest should not have been accepted, regardless of any infractions.
