For the first time in the Modern Pro Era, the state of New Jersey will have a representative in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, but one would imagine this isn’t how they wanted it to happen.

Stanislaus United Turlock Express defeated Napoli, 5-2, at Chukchansi Park in Fresno to earn a spot in next weekend’s play-in game against the NPSL’s Bay Area Ambassadors. The winner will qualify for the 99th edition of the US Open Cup.

For the first time since 2006, the Croatian Eagles have qualified for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, defeating the AAC Eagles 2-0 at the USASA Region II qualifying tournament in Bensenville, Ill.

The Kansas City Athletics are back in the Open Cup, while the Croatian Eagles from Milwaukee and the AAC Eagles from Chicago will battle for the second spot in the tournament on Sunday at Noon (Central Time)
