2015 US Open Cup qualifying: San Diego Flash need penalty kicks to join NPSL West’s final four (video)
On Saturday, the Flash repeated as NPSL Southwest Conference tournament winners, moving them on to a one-game playoff against Northwest Conference champion FC Tacoma 253. The game will be played on Sunday, Mar. 22 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle with the winner qualifying for the 2015 US Open Cup.

Harpo’s FC will take on the Kansas City Athletics in Sunday’s championship game (Noon CT), but since the Athletics have already qualified for the 102nd tournament through the USASA, the Boulder, Colorado club will represent the USSSA.
The new competition will begin in the fall of 2015 and will involve teams from the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA), US Club Soccer (USCS) and the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) with the qualifying teams advancing to the 2016 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup the following spring.
San Francisco City defeated Stanislaus United Academica 3-0 in US Club Soccer’s Open Cup championship game at Cox Field on the campus of San Francisco State University. While the format for the 2015 edition of the tournament has yet to be announced, City is expected to be US Club Soccer’s lone repersentative.
